crabfood ::

OK this is a pic of the little meals that I make for my hermit crabs. ^^ most people don't know but obviously crabs are scavengers, they swarm over beaches and eat a wide variety of foods, protien, fruit, and veggies. they get hopelessly bored with eating little flakes out of a jar - not to mention, that stuff is often full of additives and things that the crabs can be very sensitive to.

hermit crabs *much* prefer fresh foods. so, learning this early on in my crab keeping, I started preparing little dishes of food for my crabs -- and for some reason when you are making teeeeeeeeny tiny little dishes of food for teeeeeny tiny little animals, it comes out looking like doll food no matter what you do. and when I was making these dishes up I happened to have a friend over who saw this and started laughing so hysterically that he demanded I take a photograph then and there, and so, this is crab food ^^

these dishes of crabfood contain a half a steamed shrimp, coconut, walnuts, eggshell, raisins, a bit of seaweed, oats, and honey. mmmmmm nummy
